Armadillo Artie is a fun cartoony Wild West themed video slot from developers Cryptologic. The story line behind the game is to follow the games hero, an Armadillo named Artie as he tries to get a one up on his nemesis, a sneaky racoon and his sidekick who happens to be a vulture. This video slot offers five reels and twenty five paylines, with coin options ranging from 0.01 up to 10.

Armadillo Artie Wild West Theme

This adorable cartoony slot is set in the desert of Wild West America. The background to the reels looks to be a typical desert canyon, with rocks, sand and the odd cacti. The reels themselves are sand coloured and nicely laid out with bright colours and all your info at the bottom of the screen. The graphics are not particularly detailed, but are nicely drawn.

The overall feel to the slot is cheerful and humorous, not at all serious. All symbols are taken from the Wild West theme, and on the reels you can be sure to find a rattlesnake, a road runner, cacti, the ever present steer skull, Artie himself and a skunk. Aside from these higher end symbols there are also the base deck of cards symbols. These symbols are simple letters and numbers, but are done in bright colours.

Wild West Wild Symbol and Bonus Game

Armadillo Artie is of course the games Wild symbol, and appears on reels two to five.  Artie is an expanding wild, which means that he will expand horizontally across the reels to take the place of all other symbols on the reels except for the scatters.

The first scatter is the Bowling Ball Bonus icon. Finding two or more of these on reels two to four will trigger the Bowling Ball Bonus Game. This is simply a multiplier game, and is not very involved. The player will be taken to a second screen, where they will have to bowl a ball down a bowling lane using left, right, up and down arrows. The pins you hit will reveal a particular multiplier that will be applied to you bet, and this can go all the way up to thirty times.

The second scatter is the Sherriff’s Badge scatter symbol. This scatter can be found on reels two to four, and finding three of them will launch a free spins round. Hitting these Sherriff’s Badges will award you with ten free spins instantly. During this round you can also retrigger the bowling ball bonus game, which will add multipliers to your free spins, and could seriously result in large winnings.
